Bourke Street Vintage
You never know what you might find...

Meet Rachel
Bourke Street Vintage is not just a business to me, it is an extension of my personal identity.
I am delighted to share my passion for beautiful, vintage, antique, unique and preloved items with others. The search for the next outstanding piece is a true delight, and I enjoy sharing the story of its discovery and the qualities that make it special. I also appreciate the opportunity to meet new people and establish connections through engaging conversations.
A deep appreciation for beautiful, antique, and vintage items is embedded in my family's heritage, with numerous relatives on both sides involved in antique dealing, furniture restoration, and collecting. This legacy may contribute to my remarkable ability to find the most exceptional or expensive item in a room, frequently overlooked by others. I apparently possess a keen intuition.

A bit of history...
The launch of Bourke Street Vintage as a unique eclectic vintage store in Glen Innes, my hometown, was not premeditated, but rather a natural progression. It has involved substantial rewarding hard work and a succession of wonderful events, one building upon the next.
After being diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease, in 2016, I chose to return to my hometown, seeking family support, and it ultimately became the most beneficial decision I have ever made.
I began revitalising antiquated furniture items in my dining room with chalk paint and then proceeded to sell the pieces on social media. The name of my business is inspired by my residence on Bourke Street in Glen Innes.
As demand increased, my projects expanded, while my living space decreased. My brother visited and remarked, "Rach, this is crazy, why not acquire a storefront on the Main Street? Consequently, I secured a small shop within weeks, only to require a larger space shortly thereafter. I expanded my offerings to include vintage, second-hand furniture, bric-aa-brac, homewares and antiques. Bourke Street vintage grew quickly and I have little opportunity to paint furniture now. We have come a long way since 2016.
